Grown in the UK
The London 2012 organisers had a requirement that the Victory Bouquet contained 100% British grown flowers. Sadly, the floriculture industry in the UK has suffered over recent years with more and more production moving abroad. The timing of the games meant that the small number of growers that have survived, were growing varieties that would be out of season during the games.
It became clear to us that the flowers we chose would have to be varieties that could  be grown specifically for this occasion and we would have to find a partner to help us manage this. Landgard UK & Chessum Plants were ideal partners in that they had the expertise to grow flowers under existing, underutilised glass houses near Chichester in the South of England.
